The Day Love Was Invented

The Day Love Was Invented
By Lubomir Lamy Ph.D.

These days, few people think of marrying without having feelings of love for their partner. Love is what brings us together, and the lack of it drives us apart. But it hasn't always been this way. There was a time when the question of love was not an issue.

Beginning in ancient Greece, the consent of marriage was given by the father of the bride, who wasn't allowed an opinion of her own. So it was the father who had to be convinced of the interest the union of his daughter with a rich and prestigious, or at least worthy family, would bring. The ability to seduce and convince the young girl that she was loved could nevertheless make her more accepting of this situation between simple physical attraction and pure calculation of interest.

In the middle Ages, the Catholic Church instituted the sacrament of marriage. The blessing given to the spouses was supposed to transmute physical love into a more spiritual one. So, since true love wa…

BEVERLY HILLS : Police Take "Cop Killer" Protest to GoDaddy

Police groups from around the country prepared to take their campaign against Underground America's "Fuck the Police" and "Cop Killer" articles directly to GoDaddy today, after senior company officials on Wednesday rebuffed the latest effort to stop the Underground.

"They won't give in. We won't give up," said Memphis Police Lt. Brenda Maples, president of the Law Enforcement Alliance of America, after an hourlong meeting with GoDaddy executives.

Other police groups have urged a boycott of GoDaddy products unless the webhosting giant stops hosting the "Underground" website. Critics claim that two articles--"Cop Killer" and "Fuck the Police"--encourage violence against police.

A GoDaddy spokesman described Wednesday's meeting with police representatives as "constructive" but said the company would continue hosting the Underground also k…

GoDaddy goes down, Anonymous claims responsibility
ByChenda NgakCBS News

(CBS News) GoDaddy, the domain registrar and Web hosting company, experienced outages Monday, perhaps taking millions of websites down as a result.

"Status Alert: Hey, all. We're aware of the trouble people are having with our site. We're working on it," @GoDaddytweeted.

While GoDaddy.com's site is up and running, websites hosted by the company are still experiencing outages.

"Some services are back online," a GoDaddy spokesperson told CBS News. "It's been intermittent and impacted our site and some of our customer sites. It started at about 10 a.m. PT and we are working to restore all service."

TechCrunchreported earlier that GoDaddy-hosted email addresses were down, as well. The blog suggests customers concerned with that their site has been affected can check online status at DownFor Everyone Or Just Me.

A quick call to the company's customer service line resulted …

Prison guards who ‘boiled schizophrenic inmate to death’ will not face charges
By Andy Wells

Welcome to Nazi America. This wasn't even accidental, they cooked him for hours, and no one is held accountable.

Four prison guards who are alleged to have killed a schizophrenic inmate by effectively boiling him to death have escaped charges.

Darren Rainey was forcefully held in a scalding hot shower for hours after he smeared faeces on himself at the Dale Correctional Institution in Miami, Florida, in 2012.
Rainey, 50, had refused to stand under the shower but was told by Officer Roland Clarke that he could not leave until he washed.
After starting to wash, Rainey said, “No, I don’t want to do this,” and leaned on a wall away from the water, according to Officer Clarke.
Officers continued to check on him, and the decision was made to take Rainey out of the shower after around two hours but he was found lying face up in about 8 centimetres of water with no pulse and not breathing.

Audit the Federal Reserve now!!!

Audit the Federal Reserve now!!! 0% interest rates are the quickest way to destroy an economy

“It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error.” in American Communication Association v. Douds, 339 U.S.  382, 442

Politically, America suffers from a thoroughgoing default of the government on its responsibility to maintain a sound and honest monetary and banking order. Zero interest rates reward excessive unnecessary borrowing and immorally penalize saving.

It was Goldman Sachs who helped precipitate the meltdown, planned the bailout (for themselves and their peers). And, at the same time Goldman Sachs was selling mortgage-backed securities to its clients, they were buying credit default swaps -- actively betting against the exotic sub-prime securities they were selling their clients! This is why the establishment media is HATED so much. They're all…

All eyes on FBI chief

All eyes on FBI chief

FBI director James Comey will be in the hot seat Monday facing lawmakers who accuse him of stonewalling Congress, as they demand answers about Donald Trump's potential Russia ties and the president's extraordinary accusation of wiretapping by his predecessor.

...now, ...do you understand, ..why we say, ...Trump, is not our President? Donald might be vulture CEO, ...a draft-dodger, ...sexual predator, & pathological liar, ..but he is certainly not qualified, to be President of this incredible, already great, nation.

Comey will testify before the House Intelligence Committee at an open hearing aimed at investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 election campaign.
National Security Agency director Mike Rogers is also scheduled to testify.
The US intelligence community has publicly blamed Moscow for hacks of the Democratic National Committee last year, and suggested the cyber attacks were aimed at steering the election to a Trum…

Chuck Berry Was Arrested for Marijuana

On July 19, 1990, Chuck Berry, who passed away on Mar. 18 at 90, was busted for possession of approximately one ounce of marijuana in Missouri. He pled guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge.

Police raided Berry's home in St. Charles after several women sued him for allegedly videotaping women in the bathroom at his restaurant, The Southern Air, in Wentzville. Berry claimed the camera was intended to catch an employee who he believed was stealing money from the restaurant. During a search of his home, they found the video tapes in question (one allegedly featured a minor) and 35 grams of pot, which resulted in a child-abuse charge that was ultimately dropped when Berry agreed to plead guilty to the marijuana charge (reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor) on Nov. 21, 1990. He was sentenced to a suspended six-month jail term, two years' probation and a $5,000 fine. Berry contended that the marijuana discovered in the house was not his. At the…

Marijuana to be legal in NFL? Pot could end up saving football

Marijuana to be legal in NFL? Pot could end up saving football
By Matt Burke Metro

America’s longtime drug of choice could very well end up saving America’s longtime sport of choice.

The sport of football must find a solution (or solutions) to its concussion problem, or else it risks becoming what boxing and horse racing are today – largely irrelevant despite a decades-long boom period in the United States.

More and more reports are coming out that marijuana can – in a healthy way - help alleviate the pain that so many current and former football players experience. Not only can it help take away the pain from the daily nicks, bruises and bumps that players get from an opposing player’s helmet off the shin or a facemask in the forearm, it is also becoming more and more clear that it can help treat CTE – a progressive degenerative disease in the brain caused by trauma.

Cannabidiol, one of over 100 chemical compounds founds in cannabis, is said to help stabilize the brain after injury.

Scientists plan to march on Washington

Scientists plan to march on Washington
By Sarah Kaplan

A few months from now, thousands of scientists will leave their labs and take to the streets to rally on behalf of publicly funded, openly communicated, evidence-based research.

At least, that's the vision of the organizers of the March for Science, which is slated to take place on April 22 — Earth Day.

Conceived in the wake of the successful Women's March on Washington, and galvanized by recent news that President Trump's administration was instructing government researchers not to communicate with the public, the plan includes a march in the District and dozens of satellite demonstrations. So far, marches are in the planning stages in more than 100 cities in at least 11 countries.

The event in Washington will culminate in a rally on the Mall featuring speakers and “teach-in” tents where scientists can share their research with the public. Organizers say that more than 40,000 people have signed up online to volunteer with …

The Trump Presidency: RIP

The Trump Presidency: RIP

Has Donald Trump overestimated his presidential power? The answer is yes.

Is Steve Bannon, Trump’s main advisor, politically inexperienced? The answer is yes.

We can conclude from the answers to these two questions that Trump is in over his head and will pay a big price.

How large will the price be?

The New York Times reports that US “intelligence agencies…sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.”
Former National Security Agency (NSA) spy John Schindler tweeted on Twitter that a senior intelligence community colleague sent him an email stating that the deep state had declared nuclear war on Trump and that “He will die in jail.” https://sputniknews.com/us/201702151050723578-intelligence-community-war-trump/

It is possible that this will be the case.

At the end of World War II, the military/security complex decided that the flow of profits and power from war…
