At least 90 killed after bomb rips through central Kabul vs MOAB killed 94 ISIS fighters

By Christopher R Rice

Did anyone else see today's news?

From ABC News: At least 90 people were killed and 400 injured today after a car bomb tore through central Kabul, striking at the heart of the Afghan capital's highly secure diplomatic neighborhood, the Afghan government said.

An official with the U.S. Department of State confirmed to ABC News that 11 Americans working as contractors for the U.S. embassy in Kabul were among those wounded in the blast. Their injuries are said to be non-life-threatening, the official noted.

The car bomb appeared to have detonated near a busy intersection in the city's Wazir Akbar Khan district, which is in close proximity to a number of foreign embassies and government buildings, including the presidential palace and the foreign ministry.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the devastating blast. But the Afghan Taliban, which has previously claimed responsibility for deadly attacks in Kabul, issued a statement denying any involvement in today’s bombing.

ISIS is also active in the country and has previously utilized similar high-profile attacks on densely populated areas.

EDITORS NOTE: A car bomb at a cost of about twenty dollars killed over 90 people, now compare that to this CNN Headline:

At least 94 Islamic State fighters were killed when the US military dropped America's most powerful non-nuclear bomb on ISIS targets in Afghanistan, an Afghan official said Saturday.

The US military defended its decision when it was quizzed Friday on whether the 21,600-pound behemoth was necessary for that particular target.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said he approved of the strike, and it was designed to support Afghan and US forces conducting clearance operations in the region.

But former President Hamid Karzai accused the United States of using Afghanistan as "a testing ground for new and dangerous weapons."

And from the Business Insider: One MOAB costs about $170,000, an Air Force representative said. The Air Force has not confirmed the development costs associated with the larger weapons system.

EDITORS NOTE: It smells like war profiteering to me but that's because I don't own stocks in defense contractors like Congress and the Senate do. A car bomb made for $24.95 killed just as many as the 'Mother of all Bombs' which cost $170,000. The US Military is a joke and the joke is on the US taxpayers, robbed of 20 trillion already.
