Strike Updates: Color Revolutions

Strike Updates: Color Revolutions
By Christopher R Rice

Protests inspired by the revolt in Tunisia have dominoed along Egypt, Yemen and Algeria. Some experts have drawn comparisons between popular uprisings in the Middle East to color revolutions seen in post-Soviet countries.

The Obama administration used Government-Organized Non-Governmental Organizations (GONGOs) close to the CIA like Freedom House and the NED to remove or threaten dictators in Tunisia and Egypt. Further "color revolutions" in Yemen, Algeria and Jordan. The aim of US policy is to replace these dictators with less repugnant US-friendly puppet "democracies'. Now Washington tried to use the momentum of this process to stage a color regime change in Syria.

Internet activists and organizers in academia have been financed with over half a billion dollars through the State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) program. Mass media and well-known hasbara institutions directed this campaign. The U.S. news agency UPI campaigned for a dubious "Syrian revolution" Facebook group advocating for protests in Syria.

Obama authorized the sort of "color revolution" or "CIA people power coup" which the National Endowment for Democracy and the Brzezinski intelligence faction have carried out in such countries as Serbia, Georgia, and Ukraine.

Authors Webster Tarpley and William Engdahl argue that uprisings in Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East have been orchestrated by the CIA, MI6 and NGO's like Freedom House.

"What happened in Georgia with the Rose Revolution and Orange Revolution in Ukraine in 2003-2004 was part of a long-term strategy orchestrated by the Pentagon, the State Department and various US-financed NGOs like Freedom House and National Endowment for Democracy to create pro-NATO regime change in those former Soviet Union areas and to literally encircle Russia...

"What is going on in the Middle East with the Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia that we saw in Egypt with Mubarak in his 80s, and obviously a regime that is not exactly the most stable one, we have a food crisis taking place as a backdrop and the IMF coming and telling these countries to eliminate their state food subsidies so you have, of course, the explosive background for popular unrest. Within that you have these NGOs, like Freedom House, training activists and trade unions and various other organizations to demand democracy, demand human rights and so forth,"  author and researcher William Engdahl told Underground Newz.

Color revolutions, are based on the world economic depression -- jobless, rising food and fuel prices, etc. The CIA wants to use the youth bulge to destroy all the nation-states of the Middle East.
