A Christmas Special from the Underground: Going Backwards

Going Backwards

In Their Own Words: Obama on Reagan
“I don’t want to present myself as some sort of singular figure. I think part of what’s different are the times. I do think that, for example, the 1980 election was different. I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that, you know, Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not."

Trump himself has likened his evolution on some issues to Reagan’s political conversion. “Ronald Reagan was a fairly liberal Democrat and he evolved over the years, and he became more and more conservative,” Trump said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” in January. “And he ended up being a great president.”

His new economic team sounds like it wants to replicate Reagan’s success.

Greenspan sees the U.S. heading toward stagflation -- a stagnant economy saddled with rising inflation -- though it may enjoy a “mild euphoria” first. “But unless we induce productivity to accelerate, the euphoria will be short-lived,” he said.

Trade deficits also ballooned under Reagan as a rising dollar sapped America’s competitiveness -- something that economists said could happen again.

Wow Becky, I lived through Reagan, it was hell on earth. Now everyone wants to take us back. Back to the guy, Reagan who sold America.

In 1989, right after President Ronald Reagan left the White House, he was lambasted for accepting $2 million for two speeches in Japan, then an economic foe of the United States.
Not all presidents have gotten rich after leaving office.
Harry Truman couldn't afford to answer the copious mail he received or respond to requests for appearances. This prompted Congress to adopt pensions and benefits for former presidents in the 1950s so they weren't forced into activities deemed unsuitable for a former head of state.
When a president leaves the White House he's still on the government payroll, receiving an annual pension of about $200,000, health care, paid official travel and an office.
Many people have somehow forgotten that it was Reagan who took a big fat bribe to lower tariffs and allow in all this slave labor produced, cheap crap in the first place. Prior to Reagan you could buy a Toyota but it would cost you just as much as a Ford, if not more. Reagan changed all that. Dropped our tariffs and price controls. Gave companies tax incentives to move their businesses overseas. This created the scandal on the 'penny stocks' where 'raiders' came into your family run business, fired everybody and sold all of the equipment, only to reopen in China or not at all.
For those of you who don't remember any of this or are too young to know any better Underground Newz Inc. will run a very special Christmas special to help you understand.

Part I Going Backwards
In the 1980's China was mass producing American goods but American companies never saw any of the profits. This is because China was mass producing what we called "cheap knockoffs". You could buy a Guci bag (Nika shoe or whatever) for a fraction of the actual cost. Of course Gucci wasn't spelled correctly but that mattered very little to consumers who's only concern was faking being rich or cool or whatever.
The fact that 10 year old children were forced to work 16 hour days for less than 50 cents a day didn't bother American consumers in the least bit. Americans were eager to get their hands on some name brands and not have to pay what they actually cost. It didn't take American businesses very long to put two and two together and come up with three.
So they approached Reagan with their diabolically plans and Reagan gleefully sold American workers out for thirty pieces of silver. First stop, Tiananmen Square, all aboard. In the 1950's America overthrew Iran, they bribed some low level politicians and military leaders and then funded peaceful protest. Today it's Obama and Syria. In the 60's it was Kennedy and the 'Bay of Pigs'. In the 90's it was Clinton and Serbian Bosnia Kosovo fuckshitpiss. But in the 1980's it was Deng Xiaoping and Ronald Ray Guns.
And, even when they fail they win because then America launched sanctions against China for their crackdown of American funded revolution in their own country. Then Reagan, Obama or whoever offers the olive branch. In Chinas case it was, Please keep producing those  "cheap knockoffs" but for the US. Produce the same goods at the same prices but for American companies. China was given license to produce actual Gucci bags for Gucci, Nike shoes for Nike and so on. So Americans would be buying the same cheap knockoffs but at full price. And thanks to Reagans free trade and low tariffs it was all possible. American CEOs laughed all the way to their off shore bank accounts. Leaving American workers with less jobs, less job security and a huge trade imbalance with massive deficits on the side.
And now you want to go backwards. Well boyz and gurls, tomorrow I'll explain to you how Reagan sold Congress to the highest bidder. Turning a corrupt system into what we have today, a rigged system. Fuck Ronald Reagan, I'll dig his bones up and sodomize Reagan just like he did to those nuns in El Salvador. Merry fuckin' Christmas from the Underground, bitches.
